The meeting began at 12-07 p.m.
Present were Meghan, Michael, Joanne, Merna, Susan, Sarah, Angie, Lisa,
Kari, Jodi, Emilie, Randy, Constance, and James.
(note) I believe I missed 1 person but I don't know who that might be. If
anyone knows who you are, let me know at the June meeting. Thanks.
The April minutes were approved with 1 correction. The raffle at the April
meeting was a straight raffle, not a 50 50.
The treasurers report was given. We have $246 in the chapter account.
Fundraising was discussed.
The committee didn't meet. Kari hopes to have a committee meeting in mid May
after school lets out.
Joanne brought a bag of chocolate coins which the state affiliate will be
selling as a fundraiser.
They are being sold for $1.
Joanne than discussed the Otis Spunkmeyer cookie fundraiser.
They are packaged 3 dozen in a bucket.
The selling price would be $15.
She has order sheets if anyone is interested.
They come in case lots, 6 buckets in a case.
Another option is to go with Scoop and Bake cookie doe available through ABC
Fundraising.
They come in tubs of 28 cookies.
A motion was approved to have the chapter sell the Spunkmeyer cookies.
Discussion then went back to the chocolate coin fundraiser. There was
concern expressed about how and when this became a state fundraiser.
A motion was approved to have a chapter picnic later this summer.
Joanne will look into whether it's feasible to get access to a park.
The national convention was discussed.
Several chapter members will be going. State assistance is available. Those
needing it should contact the state president.

Hotel security is tighter this year so if you are bringing things to the

Michael reported Christopher Larson is working on the dog guide taxi cab
problem in Milwaukee.
He then reported on the vision services Wisconsin meeting he attended.
John Fritz, Cheryl Orgas, Michael Huckaby and David Hyde represented NFB.
Representatives from the Division of Workforce Development included Roberta
Gasman and Charlene Dwyer.
$10.1 million in federal stimulus money has been given to DVR which must be
spent by September 30th 2009.
Ms. Dwyer stated she wants to hear from people with an open IPE who are told
by their counselor that money isn't available for requested services
relevant to their IPE goals.
Ms. Dwyer also stated that BEP vendors who bought equipment for their
locations could take that equipment with them if they left the program.
North Central Technical College is no longer providing blindness training
services.
Michael noted that less than 100 of the 6000 Wisconsin NLS users are
currently using the book download service.
Finally, Michael and Jodi discussed their experience going to gW Micro
Training at company headquarters in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
Randy has a presentation on NFB Newsline and its new online capabilities
ready to go for the June chapter meeting.
The meeting adjourned at 1-50 p.m.
Respectfully submitted by Randy Black, Chapter Secretary
